Thursday October 1st. The Serres walk is so different in autumn with the parched grasses and emerging landscape colours.
Saturday October 3rd. Very peaceful Toureilles walk, though no Zak the dog.
Rolling vineyards in soft sunlight
The gentlest of days
And the only bird song to hear
Is a woodlark serenade
The stunning hilltop silence
Is complete; a complete silence to
Quieten the mind and soothe the soul

Sunday October 11th. To the Quillan lake before yet another splendid Pierre Lys lunch.
Monday October 12th. Valmigère, with a light autumn wind that grows stronger on our return, warming all the time. The Pyrenean skyline heightens spirits.
